NOTES RE: PENTICTON MATERIALS

  1. Abuse pamphlets
One is aimed at seniors specifically and an adapted one to cover the other vulnerable population. We produce these about 1000 a year. The tricky part is getting a number to call. We've been able to get the agreement of Home Care Programs Intake to replace our elder abuse line since I retired.
  2. Booklet Label
We put these labels in whatever (mostly free) publications we get that we give to different agencies, the Library etc. The most recent one was "Respecting Your Rights; A Guide To The Rights Of People Living In BC Long Term Care Facilities". We got multiple copies from Charmaine Spencer and placed them in facilities and resource centres in Penticton and Summerland. Doing this is relatively easy and does give the CRN some profile as well as providing community education.
  3. Bankposter
We sent this invitation to all the financial institutions. We had a low turnout so realized we needed to do follow-up phone calls. The event was good despite the low turnout.
